Movement Coach
Gülce is a theatre artist/performer from Istanbul. She has a BA degree in Performing Arts from Istanbul Bilgi University, where she studied movement-based creation along with performance studies. She has been part of a vibrant arts scene in Istanbul since 2010, collaborating with various independent-underground theatre companies, artists and filmmakers. She has worked in different styles of performance making, including text-based theatre, performance art, physical devised theatre and contemporary dance. Her passion in using the body as the basis of storytelling inspired her to continue her artistic research in this field: currently she is pursuing her MFA in Performance/Creation at York University in Toronto. With a deep interest in developing a body-centered artistic practice she explores various processes and methods on feeding both creation and performance from the wisdom of the body. She is the co-founder of Under The Umbrella Collective. Her last work as a performer/creator is Thousand Beginnings, a movement-based performance piece that premiered in 2018 Toronto Fringe.
