Director / Dramaturge
is an artist from Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is a graduate of the Dalhousie University Acting Program and has studied physical theatre extensively with The Irondale Ensemble Project. She co-founded Loosen the Noose Productions where she helped devise and produce three plays and an eclectic book of art. In 2015 she took over Forerunner Playwrights' Theatre, a company dedicated to facilitating the creation and staging of new plays. There she produced and stared in her first one-act play Leaves of The Virgin Mary and directed the world premiere of Meghan Hubley's TreeGirl. Margaret has been involved in a multitude of workshops and productions, serving as an actor, director, dramaturge, choreographer, and producer. Margaret is a member of Under The Umbrella Collective and directed their first production, 1000 Beginnings, in the 2018 Toronto Fringe Festival. She is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Directing at York University, directing The Balcony by Jean Genet in March 2019 for her thesis.
